At Bridge of Hope, our mission has always been simple but profound: finding a need and filling it. A mission that took us sending medical supplies to Montego Bay, Jamaica to a local dialysis clinic where resources were stretched thin. The Call for Help ​The heartbeat of any medical facility is its nursing staff. During our conversations with the local nurses in Montego Bay, a sobering reality emerged. They shared the daily struggles of providing life-saving treatment while facing a severe shortage of basic medical supplies. In Jamaica, logistics and costs often make it incredibly difficult to get the necessary equipment to the clinics that need them most. When they told us they were running low on the essentials, we knew what we had to do. ​What’s Inside the Barrel? Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, we were able to pack and ship a massive barrel filled to the brim with supplies. By working directly with the clinical staff, we ensured that every item was exactly what they required to keep their patients safe and comfortable. ​The shipment included: ​It Takes a Village This delivery wasn’t just about the items inside the barrel; it was about the Bridge of Hope community coming together. From the donors who contributed the supplies to the logistics team that navigated the shipping process, every hand played a part in crossing the ocean to help a neighbour in need. “Helping those in need isn’t just what we do, it’s who we are” Looking Ahead Seeing the relief and gratitude from the nurses in Jamaica reminds us why we started this journey.
